Amanda L. Gordon is a Bay Area native, growing up in Palo Alto and attending Castilleja High School. She graduated from Wesleyan University with a B.A. in History. Amanda worked in Advertising for several years before she attended Santa Clara University School of Law where she graduated magna cum laude (top 5% of her class).    

Amanda concentrates her legal practice on all aspects of Divorce and Family law including property division, spousal and child support, parentage and custody matters, drafting pre- and post-marital agreements. Amanda became a Certified  Specialist, Family Law State Bar of California Legal Specialization in 2020.

Amanda's goal in working with divorcing clients is to ensure that they are fully informed of their options, rights, and choices. She believes that clients are better prepared to make decisions when they have all available information.  She has enjoyed working in multi disciplinary teams and knows that divorce can be one of the most emotionally and financially stressful experiences for clients. For that reason, she believes finding the right professional fit for a client is critical.

Amanda is committed to community impact work and volunteers with the Alameda County Bar Association and the Justice Diversity Center. 

Amanda has considerable court room appearances. While litigation is often not the first choice for divorcing families, Amanda firmly believes that there are situations where litigation is required to ensure the safety of a child or for financial security of a client.

Amanda is also a Divorce Mediator - completing over 40 hours of divorce mediation training with both the Center for Conflict and Understanding and Northern California Mediation Center. Amanda has also completed Collaborative Practice training and is a member of Collaborative Practice East Bay and Collaborative Practice Golden Gate. 

On the weekends, you can find Amanda hiking with her poorly behaved Labradoodle, Griffin and spunky daughter, Z.
