Amanda L. Gordon is a Bay Area native, growing up in Palo Alto and attending Castilleja High School. She graduated from Wesleyan University with a B.A. in History. Amanda worked in Advertising for several years before she attended Santa Clara University School of Law where she graduated magna cum laude (top 5% of her class).
Amanda helps people navigate major relationship transitions—like marriage or separation—with clarity, compassion, and grounded legal strategy. Her practice is intentionally focused on mediation and premarital agreements, supporting people who want to stay out of court and in control of their choices.
Clients often come to Amanda because they’re looking for more than just legal protection—they want a process that’s thoughtful, calm, and actually reflects how they want to move forward in their lives. She understands that these conversations can be emotional, and she creates space for both the practical and the personal. Her approach is direct, nonjudgmental, and highly organized—especially for people who are navigating uncertainty or overwhelm.
Amanda is a Certified Specialist in Family Law (State Bar of California, 2020) and a trained Divorce Mediator, with over 40 hours of training from both the Center for Understanding in Conflict and Northern California Mediation Center. She has also completed Collaborative Practice training and is a member of Collaborative Practice East Bay and Collaborative Practice Golden Gate.
She works best with people who want to take ownership of their process—with access to information, not pressure. She believes that strong agreements come not from conflict, but from clarity: when clients understand their rights, risks, and responsibilities, they’re better equipped to make decisions they can live with long-term.
Amanda is also committed to community impact, volunteering with the Alameda County Bar Association and the Justice & Diversity Center.
